Welcome to Forest Hills

Making its best rural East Texas impression, the Forest Hills community offers a sublime escape from Dallas' bustling city center, just 15 minutes away. Dating back to the 1920s and 1930s, Forest Hills relishes in maintaining a historical link to those earlier days.

Large stately homes, each a unique, architectural wonder, sit on sweeping lots. Many of the homes are shaded in a canopy of trees, calling back to early developers selling lots as an opportunity to own a home "in the forest."

With direct access to both the Dallas Arboretum and the recreational wonder of White Rock Lake, this small, tightly-knit community answers the question of what it's like to live amidst nature—extraordinary.

What to Love

  • Huge lots and estate homes with plenty of room to raise a family
  • Close to the conveniences of Dallas, but with the comforts of country living
  • Many outdoor recreational opportunities, including White Rock Lake
  • Walk to the Dallas Arboretum

People & Lifestyle

Dining, Shopping & Entertainment
Even though it has a more pastoral quality than some of its neighbors, Forest Hills still has plenty of the big city tastes for which Dallas is known.

Among the most highly celebrated is Smoky Rose, where authentic Texas brisket is on the menu. Cane Russo at Gaston and Grand is a high-end pizzeria with festive outdoor seating.

Head over to The Lot for a farm-to-table experience complete with a beer garden. Next door, you'll discover cozy comfort food in a social, upbeat setting at the Local Traveler.

Things to Do

Forest Hills claims two of Metroplex's top outdoor destinations.

A 15-minute walk from the center of the community is the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Even closer is the southern end of the Dallas recreational centerpiece White Rock Lake and access to its boat ramps, picnic and park areas, and nine miles of trails.

Forest Hills also features the northern terminus for Dallas' Santa Fe Trail, a 5.3 mile stretch of paved pathways perfect for walking, running, or biking.
