Welcome to Lower Greenville

Young, hip, fun. These words often describe the collection of energetic blocks running from Mockingbird Lane in the north down to Swiss Avenue in the south.

Of course, the namesake Greenville Avenue garners all of the publicity. Once a major Dallas artery before the construction of Central Expressway, the road has been a central hub of activity since the 1920s. But Lower Greenville is more than just one street.

The neighborhood is a stunning mix of new, modern homes and timeless cottages and bungalows. It possesses a genuine, tight-knit sense of community. Recent moves to preserve its historical significance and maintain its standing as an entertainment hotspot have turned it into one of the most desirable places in Dallas to call home.

Unsurprisingly, the area is a haven for young professionals. Proximity to Southern Methodist University also reinforces the youth movement that frequents the area.

But it's not just about the nightlife and social scene.

Lower Greenville's central location translates to a short work commute for those who drive; downtown Dallas is 10 minutes away. Uptown is less than that. For those who don't, Dallas' DART light rail SMU/Mockingbird Station is across Mockingbird Lane, at the neighborhood’s northern end.

A few of the more popular haunts include the industrial-influenced Wabi House, which features Japanese ramen. The Truck Yard is a brilliantly unique collection of food trucks and an Airstream trailer bar centered around an outdoor dining space.

Desert Racer highlights southwestern plates with auto- and desert-theme decor on the inside and a massive, 8,000 square foot patio area outside. For classic American fare with digs to match, including a rooftop patio, there's HG Supply Co

In addition to the food and drink, The Granada Theater is a premier live music venue in the north end of the neighborhood, and Backdoor Comedy is a delightful spot for drinks and a laugh. Trader Joe's and Sprouts Farmers Market have a presence in the south part of Lower Greenville (Lowest Greenville).
